We chose the DigitalOcean setup with at least 25 GB SSD and 1 GB of Ram storage for our website to test its performance. However, you can add more Ram and Storage to your server at any time to boost performance. Here I will show page speed tests that we ran using Pingdom and BlazeMeter tools. 

Speed test with Pingdom

A page speed test is the fastest way to know a websites’ performance. So, we also ran page loading tests using Pingdom and got the following results from multiple locations.
  • San Francisco: 0.63 seconds
  • Washington D.C.: 0.38 seconds
  • London: 0.61 seconds
  • Sydney: 1.33 seconds
The above results are superb; however, the page loading speed slightly increases when tested using an Australian server. It means the site’s performance also varies depending on the location of the server.

We cannot rely on a single page test when it comes to the site’s performance. Everyone from us wants to know that how their website’s performance would be even under traffic spikes. For this, BlazeMeter come. We used the BlazeMeter tool to imitate up to 25-30 virtual users hitting our WordPress website for 3 minutes. Here the results that we got.

If we come to an average time, it took 0.25 seconds for our site to respond under normal stress. As I mentioned earlier, we set up a WordPress website on the most basic DigitalOcean server. But it handled the moderate traffic stress and provided an excellent uptime.
